"We present The history of the deaf of Portugal , founded by Alda Batory together with valuable volunteers and leaders for a long time, Helder Duarte, Isabel Morais, and Paulo Carvalho. We all share a great interest in studying the history of the deaf.

The creation of a facebook page and profile is also part of this project. It is extremely important to study the history of our sign language, education, deaf community and the deaf movement, in the course of history, with the prospect of comparing / relating historical moments of change in the deaf community or in a linear and discursive way.

We intend to study history by making materials available for publication and dissemination throughout the world, showing the past of the deaf community in different societies.
