https://monaghan.ie/museum/irish-sign-language-exhibition/"Signs of Life" was an exhibition about Irish Sign Language by the Irish Deaf Society and Monaghan Deaf Group at Monaghan County Museum in 2012. The exhibition toured nationally in Ireland.
“Signs of Life” was a photography exhibition featuring images of Irish celebrities from the worlds of art, music, media, sport, and more, signing a letter of the Irish Sign Language (ISL) alphabet.
The series of twenty-six visual beautiful photographs, taken by a Deaf photographer, Johnny Corcoran, was the first of its kind in the world and was bringing ISL to Monaghan in a new and exciting way.
The exhibition was free, interactive, fun, innovative and suitable for all ages with educational workshops that were aimed both at students and the general public.
